Icelandic Contemporary Design
Designers have in recent years imbued the design environment in Iceland with new life, characterized by curiosity, sensibility and optimism. The exhibition Icelandic Contemporary Design is intended to spotlight the characteristics of contemporary Icelandic design with regard to both appearance and ideology.Â
The exhibition explores contemporary Icelandic design based on three spheres of design: furniture, product design and architecture. The objective is to shed light on their context and how design becomes intertwined with human behaviour and also to call attention to the value of good design and effective ingenuity for human society — a vital resource for the future.Â
Exhibition is opened: 17.08-4.09Â |
