Portfolio Café
The annual Portfolio Café which is organised in cooperation between the Design Night festival and the Estonian Academy of Arts brings together young designers and experienced design managers, critics, curators, designers and entrepreneurs. The presentation of the portfolio and the following conversation are held in private. The expert speaks to one young designer alone without being interrupted. Expert are for example Adam von Haffner Paulsen, Fabien Cappello, Pekka Timonen, Michael Dumiak.
The face to face approach is useful for both the owner of the portfolio and the professional designer because the young designer can practice presenting his/her works, ask for advice and receive feedback. The expert, in turn, gets a quick but thorough overview of the artist, has the opportunity to ask follow-up questions and make suggestions regarding the artist’s works and cooperation opportunities. All young designers and students regardless of where they are situated or what school they attend are welcome to take part in Portfolio Café!
