Dazzling Marilin Kongo’s (Lin’s System, Kongomania) vocals are accompanied by Eduard Akulin (Lin’s System, Estonian Dream Big Band, Saxappeal, NYYD Ensemble, 2QS) on the trombone, Kaarel Liiv on the contrabass and as a surprise, Lin’s System’s drummer Petteri Hasa (Smilers, EDBB, Dagö), who has also played drums in several other bands, on the piano and Toomas Rull (Ultima Thule, Saxappeal) behind the drums, which are the driving force behind Tape That.
Marilin Kongo and Eduard Akulin’s cooperation started years ago when they formed the band LIN’s SYSTEM. Later, they had an idea to do something completely different, so they started the project TAPE THAT.Â
TAPE THAT plays unique and surprising rock and pop music arrangements. TT’s repertoire includes covers of bands like Radiohead, Yes, Soundgarden, Prince, Sting, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, Madonna and many other well- and lesser-known artists. Interesting improvisations and unexpected solutions are born on the stage. It is all JAZZ.
During their three years of playing together, TAPE THAT has given over 100 concerts to different audiences. They have performed at different venues ranging from jazz festivals to rock clubs.Â
