Estonian industrial textile has a long and colorful history and it has played a remarkable role in both the local economic and design history. This sizable terrain has not been mapped yet from the design perspective.Â
The Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design and other Estonian museums hold copious amounts of material which has not been researched or exhibited but which broadens our understanding of the scope and scale of this area.Â
The exhibition showcases the great findings from the field of Estonian industrial textiles by exhibiting different facets of the development and opportunities of this industry mainly from the design and designer’s perspective. A large number of designers, who have made thousands of designs, have always been involved in the textile industry.
