Once upon a time when only a few lonely smoke streams floated upwards from the chimneys on the banks of Lasnamäe and the location of Kaubamaja was a brushwood near a river, it was a big deal when someone finished an item.
A reasonable traveller never weighed himself down with a caravan of unnecessary things. His knife fit exactly into his palm and was as sharp as the winter wind.Â
The boots were made for his feet and the bag was exactly the right size. The same applies to our half-virtual forest. You don’t need much, but the things you have, should be specific, witty and sturdy. Toughened in the biting cold, baked in the sun, wild and just like us.Â
WILDLY good Estonian design is summoned on the shop windows of Tallinna Kaubamaja during September 9 − November 6. The shop windows are designed by theatre designer Mae Kivilo.
