See the products that are on the auction

The first Design Auction in 2006 sold mainly unique light fixtures and products which had been displayed at the itinerant exhibition “LIGHT.THINGS“. The decision to organise such an event was derived from the recognition that these things needed a new home and the best way to give them one was to organise an auction.  

Today, the Design Auction has become an essential part of the Design Night festival – one could even say it is one of the highlights of the programme – which offers design lovers the possibility to support designers and purchase objects which tell a story.

The Design Auction has always been a great spectacle and pleasant surprises can also be expected this year.    

During the previous auctions, the selection has included splendid student experiments as well as rarities from the past like a plywood stool from the Luther factory and Jüri Kermik’s chair “Äksi“. Some products by the local design superstars like Maile Grünberg, Tarmo Luisk, Leonardo Meigas, etc have always been included in the selection. 

Our aim is to offer items for different tastes with the prices starting from 1 euro. The most expensive object at the auction was the 70s crystal chandelier which sold for nearly 2000 euros. The designers (owners) determine the starting price and the profit earned at the auction is given to a charity which finances a design student’s study trip to Milan in the spring of 2014.
